Easton SCN2 Baseball Bats
The
Easton SCN2, or Synergy Plus CNT softball bat, may give you the added pop you desire when you rip into the softball that has left the pitcher's hand and is now waiting for you to slug it. CNT actually stands for carbon nanotube technology.
What Easton claims this technology does is "strengthen composite structures, optimizing designs for maximum performance." It also claims it's IMXTM, or Integrated Matrix Technology "optimizes the relationship between materials, design, and manufacturing process". The everyday softball player really just wants to know, however, if it is going to make them hit better and is it comfortable for them to use.
Let's first go over the fact that if you play in an ASA league, this bat is not for you. It is not ASA approved, but can be used in all other softball leagues. Therefore, having that out of the way, is this bat something a team, or person, should look to purchase?
The general feeling seems to be that if you want a bat with some pop, this could be what your looking for. It has a 13.5" extended barrell, and any ball player will tell you a bat with a big sweet spot is a bat that could have you driving the ball longer. It is also slightly end loaded, which in turn gives you more striking power. The ultra-thin handle also makes it easy to grip and easy to swing.
The Easton SCN2 is 34 inches long and can vary in weight from 26 to 30 ounces. The bat has a balanced feel to it, and if that is the kind of bat you like, then this could be the bat you have been looking for.
With its glistening silver body and the green highlights around the lettering, this bat even looks like the bat of a champion. A bat that is comfortable and not clumsy to hold, and also supplies excellent pop, has the SCN2 looking like a winner.
